The Department of Finance and Accounts:
(i) Advises the Director General on all matters pertaining to finance and accounts;
(ii) Interprets and advises on financial rules, regulations and directives;
(iii) Manages daily accounting and financial operations;
(iv) Prepares and maintains proper accounting records of the Institute;
(v) Prepares financial statements for auditing and submission for onward transmission to the Council and other relevant Authorities;
(vi) Oversees the preparation of the TIE consolidated financial statements accurately and timely;
(vii) Establishes and maintains workable systems for regular monitoring and evaluation of performance, quality and efficiency of all financial and accounting matters of the Institute;
(viii) Prepares payment for salaries including statutory deductions and maintains records;
(ix) Manages revenue and expenditure accordingly;
(x) Liaises with external auditors and replies to all audit queries raised;
(xi) Recommends in-service training programmes to staff in the Directorate
