Curriculum Development and Review (CDR)
The Curriculum Development and Review (CDR) Department is among the four academic Departments which were reformed when TIE changed its organizational structure in 2009, from the Curriculum Design and Development (CDD) and renamed as Curriculum Development and Review Department (CDRD). This is the department resposnsible for curriculum design, development and review.
The CDR directorate is headed by the director who is responsible to the Director General. The department is organized into five sections namely: Early Childhood Development (ECD), Primary Education (PE), Secondary Education (SE), Teacher Education (TE) and Special Needs (SN) and Non- Formal Education (NF) sections. The department is mainly responsible for designing and developing the curriculum for pre- primary, primary, secondary and teacher training colleges.
The Curriculum Coordinators (CC) in the department are normally specialised in one of the subjects taught at pre-primary, primary, secondary and teacher education levels.
